Since version 1.1.0, AutoChess Planner sends diagnostics to the author’s server so bugs can be found and fixed faster. This page says what is sent, how long it is kept and what you can do.

What the app sends

  • A random install ID (made on first run, not tied to your hardware) and a session ID for every launch.
  • Your PC’s setup: Windows version, CPU, thread count, RAM, graphics card IDs, screen resolution, system language.
  • The app version, portable or zip build, the mode it runs in (live watcher or planner only), and whether Python, the watcher and the game were found.
  • The app’s log (planner.log), with your user folder replaced by %USERPROFILE%. It holds lines such as the app starting, errors, and your placement when a match ends.
  • Crash reports when the app fails, including a Windows minidump and the last few hundred log lines.

What the server records

  • Your IP address when the app connects, and the country/city derived from it (IP Geolocation by DB-IP).
  • When you click download on this site: the time, the file, your IP address, country, browser and the referring page.

What the app does not send

  • Your Windows user name or PC name.
  • The contents of files on your PC.
  • Match recordings and the coach profile (they stay on your PC).

What it is used for

To see whether the app runs well on different PCs, to find and fix bugs, and to know how many people use which version and where, so updates can be prioritised. The data is not sold, not shared and not used for advertising.

Where and how long

  • On the author’s own server in Vietnam.
  • Logs: 30 days. Crash reports and minidumps: 180 days.
  • PC details, app sessions, downloads and IP addresses: kept with no time limit.

What you can do

The app has no switch to turn diagnostics off. If you don’t want to send them, don’t use version 1.1.0 or later.

To have your PC’s data deleted: open %APPDATA%\AutoChess Planner\planner.log, find the line “[telemetry] install …” and send that install ID through GitHub Issues on the releases page.
